Born in Lima Peru, Maria Keener is a visual and performance artist currently working as the art director of WW Design Studios. She holds a B.A in Psychology from Florida International University and a graduate certificate in Behavior Analysis.
During her years in Lima Peru, she studied classical ballet, modern dance and flamenco dancing. She studied with renown artist such as Olga Shimasaki, (director of the ballet nacional in Lima Peru), Mercedes Amaya "La Winy" and Omayra Amaya. She was part of the ballet flamenco "Alma Gitana"an became an instructor, and a choreographer for the theater department in "Universidad de Lima" and at the "Centro del Adulto Mayor" in San Isidro.
She has performed in theaters like "Teatro Segura", "ICPNA", "Teatro Municipal" "Teatro Britanico"and at the auditorium of the "Museo de la Nacion" among others.In Broward County she has recently performed at the "Sunrise Civic Center" and at the "University Center for the Performing Arts" in Davie, FL (2013).
As a visual artist, her most recent art show participations have been at Olivart Gallery in Barcelona Spain, (2013), The Rossemary Duffy Larson Gallery in Davie, FL (2014) and at the 64th Aniversary of The Broward Art Guild Gallery, (2014).
